ABOUT

Ball & Albanese are a Brooklyn-based photography duo who shoot interiors, portraits, travel, and food. Their backgrounds are rooted in a love of image-making and combine to inform a thoughtful approach to visual story-telling. They have shot worldwide destinations, stunning private homes, and some of today's most inspiring artists and chefs for editorial clients such as Architectural Digest, Condé Nast Traveller, Dwell, Lonny, Food & Wine, and Travel + Leisure. In the commercial realm, they had the privilege of photographing the first-ever awareness campaign for home décor brand CB2, where an apartment was designed in real-time via Pinterest. Selected as a PDN 30 emerging photographer in 2009, their work has since been recognized by American Photography, the PDN Photo Annual, and The International Photography Awards.

On their collaboration: "We've been bouncing ideas off of one another since the day we met. In the process, we learned to see in new ways that developed into one vision over time. We both shoot, and we share an obsession for strong, unique design elements. No matter what our subject is, our goal is to capture honest moments with compositions that are carefully crafted."

BACKGROUND

Wendy Ball graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in art and photography. She was previously a photo editor at Travel + Leisure magazine.

Dara Albanese earned a Master of Fine Arts in filmmaking from Columbia University's School of the Arts and holds undergraduate degrees in journalism and political science.
